Karen’s teaching has focused on every aspect of conducting, and thanks to regular lessons, I’ve grown into my current role conducting at Durham. She was invaluable when approaching the audition process. Working on communication with the orchestra, score preparation, rehearsal management, and even things that are important but perhaps not so widely discussed around conducting such as time management and ways of learning conducting that fitted in with other commitments has enhanced my journey.
